Meet Douglas
One of the most common questions I get asked is, why did you become a celebrant?
Having attended funerals where I felt the ceremony was more generic and lacking emphasis on the person being commemorated, I attended a funeral several years ago where it felt altogether different.
That difference was the essence of the person being commemorated was delivered in a way that was beautiful, poignant, and told from the heart. It told the unique story of the life they led.
From then I knew that I wanted to be able to develop the skills in order to deliver this type of ceremony. This led me on my celebrant journey, where I trained and received the highest qualification which can be obtained by celebrants, (Level 3 NOCN in celebrancy), gained from Civil Ceremonies Ltd, which is recognised as the best training for this sector in Britain.

London has been my adopted home for the last 16 years. I absolutely love living here and I am still in awe of everything London has to offer.
Having worked for many years caring for the wellbeing of others both emotionally and physically and in a variety of roles, I have a great understanding of people’s needs and know that my work as a celebrant will bring comfort at a difficult time.
The importance of making sure people are supported and listened to is my priority. I put my heart and soul into my work as a celebrant, whilst being warm, approachable and empathetic.
